It was a freezing cold night in Minneapolis when I drove to work that evening. Shortly after leaving my apartment, the clouds opened up and snow started falling, quietly at first, then faster. As soon as I got a few miles away, the windshield wipers couldn’t keep up with the pelting snow. All of a sudden, the car stopped.
I wasn’t sure if I was better off staying with the car or trekking to the nearest interstate exit which was a couple of miles away. Fortunately, I was wearing my tall sheepskin boots so I could handle a long walk in tough weather. I decided to chance it, so zipped up my down jacket, put a hat over my head, and started trudging along. I made it safely to a service station to ring for help, my body no worse for the wear thanks to my tall sheepskin boots.
